My entries have now gone off for Black and White Photographer of the year 2012, I have entered the main category and living world, exciting times waiting to hear the results now!

One of the images above is titled Gloss, which was captured last Autumn at the Brecon Beacons National Park in heavy rain. I'm hoping that I will be presented with simular conditions this week while working in the park again, we have amber flood warnings at the moment so hoping to have very full rivers and powerful waterfalls this week. Black & White Landscape Photography - Autumn starts...

With autumn starting tomorrow, I like many other landscape photographers are excited for the prospects of that perfect lighting at dawn and dusk, and pretty spectacular lighting conditions throughout the day. It’s my favorite time of year to be traveling through the mountains of Scotland and Wales.

I will be working on my Natural Scenes project next week in the Brecon Beacons National Park, hoping for some spectacular weather conditions to get stunning images of the black mountain range. Whilst in the Welsh mountains I will also be filming my latest Video Tutorial of the Zone System and importance of understanding exposure.

Pen y Fan, Brecon - South Wales

Pen y Fan, in the Brecon Beacons is the local stomping ground for myself, getting quite excited to shoot some images up there over the next few days. As looking at the weather report for next five days, rain next two and then sunny which makes for excellent quality in the light to get out and shoot.
